It Started With an Idea and Wouldn’t Let Go
It was 2020. The world had stopped. I had always loved candles — so did most of the people around me. But I kept finding the same thing everywhere I looked: familiar, predictable, and built for broad appeal. Pretty scents designed for everyone, which meant they were really designed for no one.
So I started making my own.
What began as a creative outlet became an obsession with fragrance — learning how individual notes interact, testing combinations, refining recipes, and creating candles that feel distinctive rather than ordinary. What started as something to do became something I couldn’t stop doing.
The Name
Wax 5th Ave is a play on Saks Fifth Avenue — because if you’re going to make something, you might as well make it with a little luxury and a little humor.
What We Make
Every candle at Wax 5th Ave starts with a question: what should this actually smell like?
Not what sells. Not what’s trending. What tells a story, evokes a feeling, or catches you completely off guard in the best possible way.
Fragrance is equal parts art and chemistry. We love watching bright top notes introduce a scent, richer middle notes unfold as the wax melts, and warm base notes linger long after the flame is extinguished. Simple scents like vanilla and rose are beautiful on their own. But the ones that keep you guessing — Mahogany Woods, Viso Tobacco & Vanilla, Woody Leather & Brandy — those take real work, real curiosity, and a lot of testing to get right.
Every product is handcrafted and made to order. No warehouse. No mass production. Just careful, intentional work from someone who genuinely loves what they make.

I’m the person behind every pour, every fragrance test, and every finished candle that leaves the workshop. What started as a creative outlet has become a business built on curiosity, craftsmanship, and a genuine love of fragrance.

Wax 5th Ave is a small, independently owned business based in the Verde Valley of Arizona. Every candle, wax melt, and soap is made by hand in small batches with care, precision, and more than a little creative obsession.
